HAZWOPER, which stands for hazardous waste operations and emergency response, is a standard developed by Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) in order to offer protections and safety guidelines to workers who work around hazardous waste. This standard applies to workers Aacross all industries, workers who are tasked with such operations, which include cleaning, treating, storing, and disposing of hazardous waste.

Our HAZWOPER 16-hour class is based on the OSHA HAZWOPER Standard, found in 29 CFR 1910.120. It is designed to be taken after an initial 24-hour course. Participants who complete HAZWOPER 16-Hour for All Industries will be better equipped for working with hazardous materials, as well as steps that can be taken to keep themselves and their team safe.

To fully comply with OSHA HAZWOPER regulations, students will also need to obtain additional site-specific training, along with two days of actual field experience under the direct supervision of a trained supervisor. The 16-hour HAZWOPER training certification does not count towards these two days of field experience.
